Terms of sale
The Product Codex is sold by Intrinsic Ninja, ABN 92 386 964 622, of the Australian Capital Territory, Australia (“we”, “us”).
What you’re buying
- A facilitator licence for The Quest for the Product Codex. It unlocks Episodes Two to Six in the GM Companion at theproductcodex.com/play/. Episode One is free for everyone.
- The licence is for you, as one facilitator. You may run the game with as many teams and clients as you like, including in paid work. If several facilitators in your organisation need it, each needs their own licence; contact us for a group price.
- Please don’t publish or share your licence code. We may switch off a code that has been shared publicly, after emailing you first.
- The episodes, scripts, characters and artwork remain ours. You may not copy, resell or republish them.
Price and renewal
- The Founding GM licence costs A$199 plus GST (A$218.90 including GST) per year for customers in Australia. Customers outside Australia pay A$199, with no GST. Your receipt is a tax invoice showing the GST. You pay through Stripe; we never see your card details.
- It renews automatically each year at the same price for as long as your subscription continues. That founding price is locked for you; it won’t rise while you stay subscribed.
- We email you a reminder before each renewal.
- If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries for a short time and your licence keeps working meanwhile. If payment can’t be taken, the licence switches off until it is.
The service
We work hard to keep the GM Companion available, but it runs over the internet and may occasionally be down for maintenance or faults. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory, Australia.
Refunds and cancellation
- 14-day money-back guarantee. If the licence isn’t right for you, email us within 14 days of your first payment for a full refund. No questions asked.
- Cancel anytime. Open the GM Companion, choose Licence then Manage subscription, or email us. Your licence keeps working until the end of the year you’ve paid for, and you won’t be charged again.
- Renewals. If you’re charged for a renewal you didn’t want, email us within 14 days of the renewal and we’ll refund it.
- Otherwise we don’t refund part-years. This doesn’t affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law: if the service has a major failure, you’re entitled to a refund or remedy.
Privacy
We collect as little as we can, use it only to run The Product Codex, and never sell it.
What we collect, and why
- Waitlist: your name, email, role and IP address, so we can tell you about the game. The IP address is only used to stop spam sign-ups.
- Purchases: your name and email, and Stripe’s reference for your subscription, so we can issue, email and manage your licence. Stripe handles your payment details under Stripe’s privacy policy.
- Game sessions: room codes, character names, flaws, dice rolls, Insight Tokens and Campfire commitments. Players don’t give us their real names or emails. We keep session data until we delete old rooms, and we’ll delete a room on request.
- Your device: the GM Companion remembers your licence, the rooms you host and your player seat in your browser’s local storage. That stays on your device. You can clear it at any time; Licence then Remove from this device clears the licence.
What we don’t do
- No advertising, no tracking or analytics cookies, and no selling or sharing of your data for marketing.
Who else is involved
- Stripe processes payments.
- Our web host stores the site, its database and our email, in Australia.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces, so your browser contacts Google, which sees your IP address.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or leave the waitlist, by emailing us. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, tell us first; you can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
